Dermatologists and celebrities alike agree that sunscreen is one of the most important steps in your daily skincare regimen. But with so many options available at so many different SPF levels, it can be tough to find the best sunscreen for your face, especially one that doesn’t clog your pores and leave your skin looking super greasy.

EltaMD, a cult-favorite sunscreen brand that celebrities have rallied behind for years. Most recently, Kourtney Kardashian shared her love for the skincare company in a video with Vogue“Every day I put on sunscreen, whether it’s raining or sunny. I love EltaMD and this is a new product I just started trying from them that has hyaluronic acid inside of it,” she said of EltaMD’s UV Replenish Broad-Spectrum SPF 44.

Kourtney also admitted, “I have not worn sunscreen every day of my life. I used to always be afraid of sunscreen and would think that it would make me break out.” But thanks to EltaMD’s lightweight, non-greasy formula, she’s hooked — and so are tons of other celebs like Drew BarrymoreMindy KalingAshley Graham, and Kendall Jenner (to name a few). While Kourtney is testing the brand’s newest sunscreen, the one celebs rave about the most is EltaMD’s UV Clear Facial Sunscreen Broad-Spectrum SPF 46 which can be purchased at GlowMd Laser MedSpa .

“This is the only facial sunscreen that doesn’t make me break out. I’m on my second bottle. It leaves a nice glow to my combination skin, but doesn’t turn me into an oil slick,” one reviewer wrote. “I’ll buy this again for my sensitive acne-prone skin, and I’d definitely recommend it to a friend!”

Made with zinc oxide, it’s an oil-free sunscreen that helps calm and protect sensitive skin types that are prone to acne, rosacea, and discoloration. Its formula is mineral-based, giving it a lightweight, silky finish. EltaMD has also earned the number one ranking among dermatologist-recommended sunscreen brands, a rare feat considering there are so many sunblock products on the market.

It’s never too late to add sunscreen to your skincare routine, and with so many rave reviews from celebrities, dermatologists, you’ll definitely want to invest in a bottle of EltaMD sunscreen ASAP (or at least before your summer vacation). Stop by today for your yearly protection!

  1. Use a daily sunscreen that contains a broad spectrum SPF of at least 30, preferably higher. We have many to choose from that helps calm and protect sensitive skin types prone to acne, rosacea and discoloration. These mineral-based face sunscreens are lightweight and silky. Elta MD, iS Clinical, GlowMD to mention a few.
  2. Avoid the sun! As stated in tip number one, you should always use products that contain protection against the sun, but even more must be remembered. Even just a few minutes of time in the sun can cause changes to the skin after so many years. Too much sun can cause wrinkles, freckles, age spots and even blotchy skin. Try to avoid the sun from the hours of 10:00 am- 4:00 pm.
  3. Don’t smoke! There are many reasons not to smoke but in reference to your skin, cigarette smoking can cause wrinkles to appear sooner than in non-smokers. After many years of smoking, some people show an almost yellow hue to their skin. Even if you’ve smoked for years, stopping smoking can still benefit the body and skin.
  4. Be sure and drink lots of water which help the kidneys do their job and expel toxins from the body. Drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day hydrates skin, and it helps cells to carry essential nutrients where they are needed.
  5. Use wrinkle creams or moisturizer for the eye area where skin is more sensitive and thinner. One of our favorites by far is iS Clinical Youth Eye which contains powerful peptides, key growth factors, & potent antioxidants. A must have!
  6. Exercising on a regular basis helps skin to look healthier and more radiant. Exercise helps increase blood circulation which is good for your skin.
  7. Add antioxidants to your diet. Free radicals can cause damage to your skin, but antioxidants protect you from the damage of the free radicals.  Foods that are high in antioxidants include fruits, vegetables, legumes, nuts, seeds and cereal. Green tea and some juices (such as cranberry) are loaded with antioxidants.
  8. Consider Injections. If you prefer a quick fix and have the budget to do so, consider getting Botox injections or fillers such as Restylane or Juvederm to fill in wrinkles. Instant gratification!
  9. Depending on your level of damage, you may even want to consider an IPL – Intense Pulse Light treatment to rid dark spots.  Chemical peels such as the Jessner peel do wonders for skin tone and the reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
  10. Finally, take care of your skin DAILY. It’s hard to be consistent all the time, but regular cleansing, moisturizing and the other steps mentioned above pay off. While you’re young start your regimen and it will pay off when you get to your 40’s, 50’s and even your 60’s.
