Discover the Benefits of Microneedling

Microneedling with PRP is a cosmetic treatment that stimulates collagen production by rolling fine needles over the skin and applying platelets, which are one of the components of blood. The addition of PRP makes microneedling more effective by helping skin tissue rejuvenate and repair itself. While the microneedling utilizes manual stimulation to encourage your body’s natural regeneration response, the PRP adds a nourishing and healing benefit, for impressively maximized results. What Exactly Is PRP?

PRP is created from a person’s own blood and is a concentrated blend of plasma cells and specific growth factors. Your blood sample will be taken right in our office before it is then placed into a centrifuge which separates the plasma from the red and white blood cells. Plasma contains a high concentration of stem cells, platelets, and growth factors to help stimulate collagen and elastin production for youthful-looking skin, significantly improving the results that we can create with microneedling.

What is Automated Microneedling?

Automated Microneedling (also known as Percutaneous Collagen Induction Therapy or PCIT) is a new innovation in aesthetic medicine for the treatment of fine lines and acne scars, and the improvement of your skin’s appearance. During this procedure, tiny needles are used to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin in order to produce collagen and elastin.

Your skin’s repair process results in a thicker dermis with reduced wrinkles. Automated micro-needling also creates superficial micro-channels, which allow topical serums and creams to be absorbed more effectively into the skin. Collagen P.I.N. is the most advanced medical-grade automated micro-needling device on the market.

The Collagen P.I.N. Difference

One of the many drawbacks of traditional dermal rollers is the fixed needle or penetration depth, which is not very conducive when treating an area that requires different depths due to the thickness of skin tissue (which varies in depth tremendously from treatment area to treatment area).

Collagen P.I.N. has an adjustable needle depth that allows your skincare provider to adjust penetration depth throughout the entire treatment. This will allow your provider to properly address the specific needs of thinner skin on your lower eyelids, crow’s feet, and forehead.

Additionally, where the tissue is thicker in other areas like the upper lip, cheeks (due to fat pads), neck and décolletage, the necessary adjustments can easily be treated with one needle tip instead of five or six needle rollers.

Collagen P.I.N. vs. Lasers

When used correctly, laser resurfacing can be a great tool for treating aging skin. However, lasers use focused light to produce heat to destroy certain colors of pigmentation and vaporize skin. This is great for targeting dark spots but often leads to complications when treating patients with naturally darker skin.

Collagen P.I.N. breaks up pigment mechanically and remodels the collagen without heat or light. When the heat is removed from the process, it makes for a much safer, more comfortable, and more consistent treatment. No heat also equals less downtime, making this a favored procedure among our busier patients.

Most Collagen P.I.N. patients have a healthy pink glow immediately after the procedure, which lessens dramatically within 24 hours or less. After your treatment session, you can expect to be back to work on the very same day and out to dinner the same evening, experiencing little to no downtime as you show off your results.

How Is the Procedure Completed?

A sterile needle-tip containing 12 to 36 (optional) tiny micro-needles is attached to the Collagen P.I.N. device. Your skincare professional will apply a thin layer of topical serum to your skin and select the appropriate treatment depth based on your unique needs.

Next, in a single motion, the Collagen P.I.N. will be gently glided across the skin until the entire treatment area has been covered. This results in thousands of microscopic channels throughout the entire treatment area.
